What are public portfolios and simulations in Fincanva?

Modified on Mon, 28 Apr at 6:00 PM

Public portfolios and simulations in Fincanva are pre-built investment strategies made available for users to explore. They offer a powerful way to learn from real, fully functional portfolios, test ideas, and understand how different models behave under various conditions.

What You Can Do with Public Portfolios

When you access a public portfolio, you can:

  • View the full simulation output

  • Access the portfolio structure and model settings to understand how it was built.

  • Free plan users can also view all outputs, except for the "Current State" tab.

What You Cannot Do

  • You cannot save or edit a public portfolio directly.

  • Public portfolios are read-only until you create a personal copy.

How to Customize a Public Portfolio

If you want to modify or experiment with a public portfolio:

  1. In the Public Portfolios table, find the portfolio you want to use.

  2. In the Action column, click the three dots menu.

  3. Select Clone to create your own version.

Once cloned:

  • The portfolio will appear in your Personal Portfolios section.

  • You can editmodify, and save it just like any other personal portfolio.
