The Positions History tab in Fincanva gives you a comprehensive breakdown of all trading activity during a simulation. It allows you to analyze how your strategy interacted with individual assets—down to each trade, dividend, and split.
Portfolio Symbol History Table
Lists all assets that were ever part of your portfolio during the simulation.
Positions Table
When you select an asset from the first table, this shows all the positions (long or short) that were opened and closed by your models for that asset.
Trades Table
Selecting a position reveals every trade within it—entry and exit dates, side (buy/sell), quantities, associated costs and more.
Dividends and Splits Table
Also tied to a selected position, this shows all dividend payments and stock splits, with details like payout date, amount, shares held, and annualized yield.
Use the Positions History tab to validate how your strategy behaved at the trade level and spot patterns or timing tendencies. It’s a critical tool for fine-tuning decisions and building trust in your backtest results.
